Russell Brown is a video game IP licensing consultant who helps his clients expand their IP into film, digital content and consumer products. Through his services, clients can expand their audience reach, build their IP into franchises, tap into a low-cost high-margin source of recurring revenue and push their brand into non-gaming content and merchandising.

He is currently the President of Consumer Products, Promotions and Media Sales at Valiant Entertainment, where he oversees their licensing relationships in the US and China, including with Hasbro, Studio Canal and Playmobil. At Marvel, he played a key role in resurrecting the Marvel characters in worldwide merchandising, helping strengthen and grow the brand leading to their acquisition by Disney. He has worked with numerous other brands to help them expand their licensing strategy and reach, including Authentic Brands Group, Martha Stewart, Iconix Brand Group, AT&T and MasterCard.

Russell works with his clients through the entire licensing process, starting with a frank discussion about their goals and aspirations for their IP, followed by a competitive analysis against successful game-based IP for other media and consumer product programs. He helps them develop a plan of action with potential projections and helps foster introductions, discussions and negotiations with the goal of establishing long-lasting and profitable partnerships.
