Client Highlight: MWM Immersive

DDM is proud to share news from its Industry Guidance client and to have assisted MWM Immersive in its journey:

MWM Immersive, the interactive entertainment division of media and entertainment company Madison Wells Media (MWM), has moved into video game publishing and rebranded itself as MWM Interactive. The division is publishing Creature in the Well (a unique pinball-inspired hack and slash game) from Flight School Studio. MWMi recently released the VR title Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son from Tequila Works, with writing by Joshua Rubin. The team secured two VR Awards nominations for Chained: A Victorian Nightmare and War Remains with War Remains taking home the win for Best Out-of-Home VR Entertainment of the Year.

MWM Interactive Executive Vice President of Content, Ethan Stearns, said in an interview with GamesBeat that the company would continue to publish VR content and expand into video games at the same time. Stearns will continue to oversee the creative vision and strategy for Los Angeles-based MWMi’s upcoming slate. Co-lead of the division, Alyssa Padia Walles, has joined as Senior Vice President of Publishing, and she will oversee distribution and marketing, bringing more than two decades of experience in the video game industry to the team.

“We are a division focused on empowering storytellers to create interactive content across any platform, to reach and engage a larger audience,” Stearns said. The MWMi division has six people, and it is expanding in marketing and publishing roles. “Most of the focus will be on original titles, and by next year, we’ll have a steady stream of games coming out,” he said.
