Mighty No. 9 is One of Several Kickstarters where DDM’s Games Production Services Division Assists Independent Development Studios to Maximize Crowdfunding Opportunities
Digital Development Management (DDM), the world’s leading business and talent agency for video games and digital entertainment, has quickly established its expertise on crowdfunding for independent studios. The company’s latest initiative, in concert with their client Comcept, will bring famed designer Keiji Inafune-san’s Mighty No. 9 to market worldwide. To execute the Kickstarter campaign, DDM assembled an international team of experts to collaborate in all strategic aspects. Ending on October 1st, the currently active Mighty No. 9 campaign has already raised more than two million dollars, well over its initial goal of $900,000, and its success has turned Mighty No. 9 into the standard for Kickstarter projects. Mr. Inafune-san’s collaboration with DDM began months before the Kickstarter campaign launched, continues during the ongoing campaign, and will extend through the duration of development and distribution of the game. “Working with DDM lets me focus on the wonderful challenge of creating a new video game while knowing that they will be ready to provide business advice and to secure the right solution for each publishing and distribution task that lies ahead,” he commented. Mighty No. 9 is one of many video game Kickstarter projects that DDM supports with its wide array of services. For Warmachine: Tactics, DDM’s client WhiteMoon Dreams raised $1,578,950, and DDM is actively securing partners for additional platforms. For Shadowrun Returns, a successful Kickstarter that is now in the market, DDM is assisting Harebrained Schemes to expand the game’s reach into international markets. “DDM was founded with a goal of providing more opportunities to video game development studios, and crowdfunding is just that – one more potential solution for bringing a game to life while supporting the studio behind it,” says DDM’s president Joe Minton. “Working with Inafune-san on Mighty No.9 is an honor and it is gratifying to see our years of work to build an international agency so effectively in action; in this case across our US Headquarters, our Osaka office, our agency business development & distribution team, and our production services division.” Crowdfunding assistance is an example of the one-stop solutions that DDM’s Games Production Services (GPS) division offers its clients. Through GPS, DDM offers its clients solutions for every aspect of game development – including localization, art, cinematic, audio, community management, marketing, and numerous other services – across any platform worldwide as it fills a vital role in the industry by providing a centralized, comprehensive network of top-tier service providers.
